Many people cringe when they hear someone say, "Irregardless." So, is it really a word or not?
Regardless is the word you want to use. It's already negative, so it doesn't need ir-. If you put that prefix on regardless, you are creating a word that means "without without regard." So, while it may be used, it's best to just avoid irregardless.
I have heard people use that word so many times! I always wondered...
