First Line Friday

Happy Friday! It's time for First Line Friday, hosted by Hoarding Books.

It's time to grab the book nearest to you and leave a comment with the first line. Today on First Line Friday, I'm featuring the latest release from The Mail-Order Standoff.

And the first line is ...

"If you get on that train, Timothy Higgenbottom, I'll write to your father."

About the book...

This is a collection of four novellas, where marriage plans are put on hold in the Old West when four mail-order brides have second thought. How will their grooms win their trust?

Let me know the first line of the book closest to you and then head over to Hoarding Books to see who else is participating.

If you're a blogger or just a social media-er, we'd love for you to join us, too!

  1. Happy Friday! My first line is from “The Vanishing of Olivia Beck” by Sara L. Foust:

“Olivia Beck pulled her gaze from the rearview mirror for the tenth time in as many minutes. She would not cry.”

  2. Happy Friday!

I haven't personally heard of the book you shared today, but I love that opening line.

My first line I'm featuring on my blog this week is from Lindsay Harrel's The Joy of Falling:

"Once upon a time, color had dominated Eva Jamison's days."

I hope you have an amazing weekend with lots of quality reading time :)

  6. I’m doing Before I Called You Mine by Nicole Deese. I’ll use the first line from Chapter 15:

Like a grouping of cancerous cells, my family’s cynicism had slithered into my subconscious and infected my thoughts with their poison.
